At 02:31 this morning, Titanium Crime Prevention Unit received information that a male, believed to be in his 40s, intended to take his own life by jumping from the Okavango Bridge.

Without hesitation, three Titanium Crime Prevention Unit vehicles responded to the scene. Upon arrival, concerned members of the public had managed to persuade the individual to sit down safely while assistance was on the way.

The Titanium Crime Prevention Officers spent time speaking with the individual, offering support, compassion, and reassurance. Following a heartfelt conversation lasting approximately 30 minutes, the individual felt safe enough to return home and committed to seeking further assistance through clinics and support services provided by the Titanium Crime Prevention Unit Officers.

We would also like to acknowledge the members of the public who intervened and stayed with the individual until help arrived. Your actions made a difference!

POSITIVE ARREST - COPPER THEFT SUSPECTS ARRESTED

📍 Protea road, Brackenfell

In the early hours of Monday, 15 June 2026, at approximately 03:15, Titanium Armed Response Officers were conducting proactive visibility patrols along Protea Road in Protea Heights when they observed a male walking along the road wrapped in a blanket.

The Titanium Armed Response Officers approached the individual, whereafter the suspect attempted to flee. Members swiftly apprehended the suspect and discovered him to be in possession of copper believed to have been stolen.

The suspect was arrested, and the Titanium Control Room immediately requested the assistance of SAPS. Brackenfell SAPS arrived on scene within 10 minutes, and the suspect was transported to Brackenfell Police Station for profiling and further investigation.

Well done to our members for their vigilance and proactive patrols which contributed to keeping our community safe.

POSITIVE ARREST – VEHICLE BREAK-IN SUSPECT ARRESTED

📍 Olympus Drive, Kraaifontein�📅 13 June 2026

At approximately 06:07, our Titanium Armed Response Officers received information via a community WhatsApp group regarding two suspicious individuals walking in the Cocos Crescent area of Kraaifontein.

Titanium Armed Response Officers immediately responded and conducted a search of the area. Although no suspicious persons were initially located, members continued their patrol and investigation.

During the search, Titanium Armed Response Officers identified an individual known to them from the “vlak” and who was known to have an active case against him relating to a vehicle break-in at a residence in Olympus Drive.

Titanium Armed Response Officers confronted the suspect and, a few moments later, members of Kraaifontein SAPS arrived on the scene. Following further investigation, the suspect led members into the “vlak”, where stolen property was being concealed at a residence. Additional stolen items were subsequently recovered at a second location identified by the suspect.

🚨 MARKETPLACE FRAUD ALERT 🚨

📍 Durbanville

Titanium Securitas CPU (Crime Prevention Unit) recently assisted in preventing a suspected Facebook Marketplace scam.

After advertising a flat-screen TV for sale, a Durbanville resident agreed to a cash-on-collection deal with a buyer. However, when the buyer arrived over an hour late and changed the arrangement, claiming he would make an instant EFT while sending a driver to collect the TV, the seller became suspicious.

To test the payment, the seller intentionally provided incorrect banking details. Shortly thereafter, a payment SMS and proof of payment were received, both of which were later confirmed to be fraudulent.

Titanium Securitas Crime Prevention Unit members responded and detained the suspect. Further investigation revealed that he had allegedly posed as an inDrive driver and used software to send fake bank SMS notifications and fraudulent proof of payment screenshots.

It was later established that at least 22 other victims had reportedly fallen prey to the same scam.

Durbanville SAPS attended the scene and took the suspect into custody for further investigation.

Fatal Head on Collision N1

Shortly after 23:20 Titanium Securitas Medical Response received a call of a serious Collision on the N1 between Engen 1 Stop and Joostenbergvlakte.

Our Medical team immediately made our way to the given location. On arrival a motorcycle and n vehicle were found on scene that collided head on with each other.

On closer inspection an adult male who was the driver of the motorcycle was found on scene with fatal injuries nothing could be done and he was pronounced deceased. Two other patients from the vehicle was found who sustained injuries, both were stabilized on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

According to information provided on scene the delivery motorcycle was driver oncoming traffic when he collided head on with the vehicle.

Local authorities were on scene to conduct a full investigation into the matter.

Pedestrian Seriously Injured

At approximately 17:30, Titanium Securitas control center received a call of a pedestrian that was hit on the corner of Bottlary and Cecil Morgan.

Upon arrival, a 6 year old boy was found with serious injuries on scene after being hit by a taxi. He was stabilized on scene by our Advance Life Support crew before being transported to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.

On 1 May 2026, Titanium Securitas officially launched its newly restructured Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) – a dedicated team built to proactively combat crime and protect the communities we serve.

This transformation was not achieved overnight. Eight carefully selected members underwent an intensive two-month training program designed to prepare them for the demanding role ahead. This was followed by an additional month of in-house training focused on company procedures, operational standards, and best practices.

The journey began with a three-week live-in training program on a dedicated farm, where members were challenged physically and mentally while developing the teamwork, discipline, and resilience required to operate as a cohesive unit.

Training then continued at Saber Outpost in Hermanus, where the team spent a week refining advanced tactical, fi****ms, and response skills under realistic operational conditions.

Since its implementation on 1 May, the unit has already played a key role in numerous successful operations, contributing to arrests, the recovery of illegal fi****ms and narcotics, and the disruption of criminal activity across the areas we serve.

These achievements are a direct result of the team's dedication, training, and commitment to keeping our communities safe.

We are incredibly proud of what has already been accomplished and look forward to building on this success in the months ahead.

Drug Bust Success: 125 Mandrax Tablets Recovered in Fisantekraal

On Saturday evening, Titanium Securitas joined forces with Durbanville SAPS to assist in the ex*****on of several search warrants as part of an ongoing operation aimed at combating drug-related crime in our communities.

During the operation, officers searched multiple premises, leading to the detention of a suspect found in possession of tik straws. Following questioning, valuable information was obtained regarding a location allegedly being used to store illegal narcotics.

Acting swiftly on the intelligence received, members proceeded to the identified premises in Fisantekraal. Although no occupants were present at the time, a thorough search of the property resulted in the successful recovery of 125 Mandrax tablets (buttons) and 10 tik straws.

The suspect was subsequently arrested and transported to Durbanville SAPS for further processing and investigation.

Operations such as these highlight the importance of cooperation between private security and law enforcement agencies in disrupting criminal activity and making our communities safer.

Joint Operation Leads to Major Drug Bust in Kuilsriver

On Saturday night, the Titanium Securitas CPU team participated in a joint operation alongside Kuilsriver SAPS and Law Enforcement, focusing on community safety and removing illegal fi****ms and narcotics from the streets.

Shortly after the briefing concluded, the operation kicked off with a visit to a residential premises that had been identified as a possible drug distribution point.

SAPS members swiftly entered the premises, followed by Titanium Securitas officers. The property was thoroughly searched when a shoebox, which appeared suspiciously out of place, caught the attention of the team.

Upon closer inspection, multiple small bags containing a white powder, suspected to be co***ne, were discovered inside the box.

After further examination under sufficient light, the substance was confirmed to have the same consistency and appearance as co***ne. The suspect was immediately arrested and transported to Kuilsriver SAPS for further processing.

The drugs were subsequently weighed and estimated to have a street value of approximately R860 000.

A strong reminder that teamwork between private security and law enforcement agencies continues to play a vital role in keeping our communities safe.
