Excited to begin concept design for this charming heritage property in Sorell, Tasmania, with an ambitious vision from our client: to transform it into a landmark café and restaurant — a destination people will want to visit, experience and remember.
The existing building has wonderful character, history and stories embedded in its walls. Our challenge is not to erase the past, but to celebrate it while giving the property a new life and purpose.
For us, this project is also about Designing Smarter: Efficient & Economical Design for Renovation, Reuse & Heritage Homes.
Good adaptive reuse is not simply about spending more. It is about understanding what should be retained, what can be reused, where to intervene, and where investment will create the greatest impact — architecturally, commercially and environmentally.
We’ll be exploring how heritage architecture, contemporary hospitality design, landscape and carefully considered new interventions can come together to create something uniquely Sorell.
