What you’ll do:

General nursery hand: Assist with a variety of day to day nursery tasks, including potting, weeding, watering, and general plant care. It is a jack of all trades position! 😊

We’re looking for people who:
✅ Have a strong work ethic and attention to detail
✅ Enjoy hands-on, physical work. (A degree of fitness required).
✅ Work well as part of a team
✅ Are available for either full-time hours

Planting continued yesterday while the rain held off!

That’s 7 acres of Liliums in the ground for future years bulb sales! Lots of newbies will be on offer as they are assessed for their suitability to the Aussie conditions.

There’s still more to plant after winter, but grateful we have had a nice weather window to get the majority in!

Light rain falling in the Dandenongs today, which is gratefully received! Albeit a very late night last night trying to plant before it arrived.

Thanks to those that came to Free Plant Friday at Yarck today in support of Bushfire Recovery.

We offered horticultural knowledge, assisted with carrying, met with community members and listened to your stories.

Some stats for you…

Over 17,000 plants and bulbs found their new forever homes, rebuilding many gardens.

1 x Semi Trailer and 1 x 12 Pallet rigid truck of stock.

50 Trolleys of stock.

12 staff, 3 days of preparation, labelling, loading and unloading.

A retail value of close to 200k.

A 4:20am start today for a few staff to travel from Silvan to Yarck.

We also had a smaller version of the banner used at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show created with Yarck’s truck name on the top for the brigade to have.

Many thanks to bunnings for assisting with a semi to move the load of plants. RnB transport for the loan of some additional trolleys, and the many extra pairs of hands that helped up unload in Yarck.

6am and people are everywhere collecting plants for their gardens!

We are in Yarck offering FREE PLANTS AND BULBS to all those who were in the bushfire areas.

FREE PLANTS FRIDAY!

Yarck CFA station, TOMORROW!

For those living in and around the Victorian Bushfire areas. (Not just the Longwood Fire, all are welcome).

Please bring your own boxes, bags, Utes to take your new plant babies home.

It’s a full semi, and part of a rigid. Estimated 10,000 plants and 7000 bulbs.

All are free, no catches. The only thing we ask is that the plants and bulbs go to those who have been doing it tough, and are not to be sold.

See you from 6am tomorrow!

P.s…Please also leave the trays for us to take back to the nursery.
