A characterful, fresh renovation in central Victor Harbor.

This project marries the natural warmth of modern Australian timber accents with the clean, timeless feel of white cabinetry, highlighting the subtle beauty of Laminex Ghostgum in a semi-gloss ‘Silk’ finish.

By thoughtfully integrating the home’s existing structural supports into the open joinery, we preserved its unique architectural history while completely opening up the space to the garden view. Paired with crisp stone benchtops, streamlined handleless drawers, and warm feature bulkhead framing, it is a space designed for easy family living, Sunday morning pancakes, and unwinding at the end of the week.

When clients in the food and w**e industry design a kitchen, commercial-grade functionality and effortless entertaining space are top of the list. For this Carrickalinga home on the Fleurieu Peninsula, the brief called for a streamlined, minimalist galley kitchen centered around a statement island that could handle serious hosting while tying into polished concrete floors.

Every element was custom-crafted to balance clean lines with hardworking practicality:

• Tactile Material Contrast: A 35mm solid Jarrah island benchtop with 75mm laminations brings rich natural warmth against satin cabinetry.
• Clever Engineering: To preserve the natural light from the window above the overhead cupboards, the rangehood flue was custom-ducted horizontally through the cabinetry rather than through the ceiling.
• Practical Problem Solving: To protect the wide garden window splashback from cooking splatters, we deepened the cooktop run to a custom 700mm depth.
• Sleek Functionality: Push-to-open hardware and soft close fittings were installed to make the clients everyday use streamline and enjoyable.

The result is a true entertainer’s dream: warm, dramatic, and built for a lifetime of shared meals.

When a professional chef asks you to design their family kitchen, it has to strike the perfect balance between industrial performance and the warmth of an inviting home.

For this Walkerville project, we focused on texture and contrast. We blended the cool tones of stainless steel and Laminex Pearl Grey with the rich warmth of Solid American Oak and Laminex Calm Oak. When global supply challenges made sourcing birch ply difficult, our team quickly adapted to custom hoop pine ply to keep the project on track without compromising the design.

The happy result? Our clients completely fell in love with the layered texture of the hoop pine, especially the intricate, oiled 45-degree bevelled edge. Paired with tactile, leathered Negresco Quartzite benchtops, integrated fridges, and sleek push-to-open cabinets, it's a space built for both serious cooking and relaxed family gatherings.

Clean lines. Warm details. A kitchen built for the life that happens around it.

The Chiton Project was designed as the inviting centrepiece of a home full of art and warmth - and every detail was considered with that in mind.

The travertine floor wraps up onto the back of the island. Diffused lighting glows from within the handle recess. The hotplate sits completely flush - no overhead canopy - so nothing interrupts that view straight out to the alfresco.

Practical, beautiful, and entirely custom. Built by hand in our Victor Harbor factory.
