When architecture frames nature this well, the view becomes the artwork. Final stages on this light-filled, modern space - calm, refined, and almost ready.

Set along the Rideau River, this renovation brings calm, clarity, and quiet luxury to a once traditional home. In the primary suite, a pair of his-and-her walk-in closets leads to an ensuite shaped through intentional material mixology - natural stone, warm oak, brushed bronze, and sculptural lighting.
The palette plays with the raw and refined, creating textural richness and an immersive spatial narrative that feels serene, modern, and timeless.

Where day meets night - a penthouse of polished light and moody shadow, designed for both calm mornings and vibrant nights.

Once an office space, this two-level penthouse transforms a former office floor into a home of contrasts — bright and polished above, with glossy tiles and sweeping city views; moody and tactile below, with concrete, leather, and dark finishes shaping a private retreat for leisure and late nights.

Cottage in the Trees

💫 GOHBA 2025 finalist in “Anywhere in the World” category

Set high above Lac Bernard, this cottage is carried by a rhythmic timber frame - a procession of Douglas fir beams that echo the verticality of the surrounding forest. Stone from the site anchors it to the hillside, while floor-to-ceiling glazing opens the living spaces to shifting light and treetop views.
Inside, warmth comes not only from wood and stone, but also from the people who call it home. Isabelle’s Finnish heritage is reflected in Marimekko textiles and glassware, adding a personal thread to the contemporary design.
During our visit, the house shifted with the weather - bright sun giving way to soft, moody skies, while Dominique, Isabelle, and their gentle dog Noah welcomed us with the kind of hospitality that makes architecture truly lived-in.

The best homes are built on dialogue.

Our process starts with people - listening, learning, and imagining together.
Karen’s clear vision and positive energy, paired with the thoughtful guidance of one of our architects, Samantha, shaped a collaboration that was as enjoyable as it was inspiring.
Great design grows from this kind of partnership - where architect and client build not just a house, but an experience worth remembering.

Design begins with listening and observing.
Contours, light, shelter, exposure - the land offers cues, if we take the time to notice. Before drawings, before plans, there is simply a place. And the quiet task of understanding it.
