What do garlic powder and maple syrup have in common?
The two jobs we had on Friday.
Firstly, we loaded up and headed to Richmond to pickup a wood stove that our old friend was giving away. They were happy to see it go to good use after we told him it would be used to boil sap for maple syrup!
Next, we headed over to Christie Lake North Shore Rd to move a roadside vegetable stand for some new friends. We used two 10' powerline cross arms that I added some schedule 40 PVC to the nose of as our skids, lifted the structure up and slide them under. Secured the structure to the skids with some structural screws, added some bracing and then connected the skids to our mini track loader with a rigging rope and bowline knots. Then, we pulled the structure about 800' down a curvy gravel laneway and placed it into its new home. They are going to level it and put it up on some blocks themselves.
We walked about with some new knowledge, a 'new to us' stove, some new friends and a jar of homemade garlic powder. What a great day!
