This will be fun. Been waiting for this. Getting a start on finishing the fireplace! Ran lights within the mantel to dimmer switch and securely installed the mantel. Next up, concrete board, mock up prep, and then installation of Lake Tahoe River Stone. Flooring, bathroom tile, closet doors and trim will complete construction.

Since being a home inspector for a while now, I have seen some things and stuff, lets say. And being a believer in saving money by doing things yourself, I now know there are many of us DIYers out there. However, if you are going to do it yourself, its important to do it right. Code, building practice, materials and permitry can be daunting. If not careful, you can cause more problems than what you save, in terms of safety and potential resale value of your home. It's unfortunate, but many DIYers have found this out the hard way. But, you can find out the easy way. This is why I am opening my doors here to offer help and guidance to DIY homeowners. If you are planning to do work on your home yourself or even planning to build a home yourself and recognize you need some guidance, I can help you do it once and do it right.

I would like to announce today that I am officially transitioning and opening a new residential inspection services company.

I would like to thank all of my past customers and those who have supported me building decks, pergolas, fences and more recently a home, among other things. Building and renovating has always been a passion for me and transitioning to providing a certified home inspection service is something I will thoroughly enjoy. As I near completion of the recent home build, I will still provide update pics here to show final result. It's been alot of work, but it's almost complete and I'm very happy with the way it has progressed.

With soffits and and facia now complete it is on to drywall. Ceiling is done and focusing on walls. Taping and mudding up next and then ready for custom kitchen cabinets with pantry and island by Eli Zoot and installation of Tahoe River Stone fire place and mantel. Almost there!
