Pay attention to the details. 🚫

We were asked to repair this lean-to porch in Kilmarnock after costly mistakes had caused rot at the foot of the supporting post.

The wrong material had been used and fitted incorrectly, leaving the post exposed to water. The timber copings also had a short lifespan in Scottish weather.

To put it right, we:

✅ Replaced the posts with the correct treated timber
✅ Fitted post feet to lift the timber away from standing water
✅ Installed stone copings for a longer-lasting finish

Michael helped me on this one, and we managed to carry out the repair without causing any further damage to the porch, keeping the cost as low as possible.

Recently at MoreLife Barbers on High Glencairn Street.

Upgrading a dated seating area, now fully prepped and ready for paint. Added detailed mouldings to bring in that traditional touch that ties in with the rest of the shop, and reduced the worktops to create more usable working space.

It’s solid White Oak.

Designed around the client’s idea to make use of an unused space, but with a clear focus on quality and that’s exactly what solid oak delivers.

Shaker-style raised panel doors with added detailing to the facings, all made in the workshop prior to fitting to ensure a high-end finish.

Spray Finished Custom Alcove Units 🎨

I took my wife Morgan At OPAL along to work for the day, I needed the help and she was happy enough to come along to catch some content and even lent a hand.

These Alcove units were made in the workshop prior to fitting, still a bit of work involved fitting but having them made in the workshop allows me to take the time needed to focus on the details.

This isn’t just a name change — it’s a move towards the level of work I want to be known for.

Design-led joinery, high-quality finishes, and projects built to last.

Over the past year, I’ve refined my process, raised my standards, and focused on delivering a higher level of craftsmanship.
