Not every wobbly handle needs a professional. A loose handle or a sagging hinge is often a five-minute fix with a screwdriver.

But some problems are a clear sign to put the tools down and pick up the phone instead. If your key turns but the door won't open, resist the urge to force it. That usually points to a misaligned mechanism or a worn barrel, and forcing it tends to make things worse, not better.
