We believe architecture has the power to transgress boundaries that exist between spaces and between people, both real and perceived. This power is derived from a space’s ability to inspire, engage, and motivate its users as well as the greater community. Our comprehensive approach to design depends on the simultaneous blurring and exploitation of distinctions between inside/outside, built form/la

ndscape, site/urban context and theory/practice. We seeks to continually define new boundaries in the creation of architectural visions and city space.

🙏 Big thanks to URA for the Commendation on our Entry in the Yaumatei and Mong Kok Urban Renewal Design Ideas Competition. Titled "the Valley of Temple", our Entry seek to preserve and redefine the vibe of Temple Street while blending with new redevelopment.

Through this design, we hope to contribute in raising public awareness that redevelopment doesn't necessary mean all-out dismantling, and recognize that every place has a soul that is worth preserving that transcends bricks and mortar.

Great effort by our FAT team Peony Hong Yan Yee and Tang Wing Kwan, led by Leung Wan Fei Lourance 👏

We got news from the studio in this festive season! 🥂

We are proud to share that our conceptual vision for the Northern Metropolis, "Touching the Earth Lightly," has received a Silver Award at the 2025 MUSE Design Awards.

In response to the "Rural Preservation vs. Urban Development" debate, we believe the solution lies in integration, not replacement. We proposed to stack urban functions like metro stations, markets, and laboratories beneath greenhouses and solar-powered housing, lightly touching the ground on stilts.

This award belongs to our dedicated team and our belief that the best way to build the future is to respect the earth beneath it.

Here in Concentric Ripples,
the landscape rises and falls like gentle waves.
Visitors wander, pause, play,
surrounded by floating discs of soft blue light —
a canopy shaped by recycled plastic, sunlight, and movement.

Light, shadow, and people interact naturally,
turning the space into a calm urban retreat
where every moment resonates like ripples on water.

💧《同心漣》— A shared space of unity, calm, and renewal.
A proposal for the 15th National Games.

Even after the rain,
the recycled plastic discs shimmer with solar light —
each ripple powered by the energy of the day,
reflecting endurance, unity, and renewal.

♻️ Made from over 225,000 recycled PET bottles,
the installation celebrates a sustainable future —
where every drop, every effort,
creates ripples that never fade.

《同心漣》Concentric Ripples

As the 15th National Games of China opens this week,
our installation proposal “Concentric Ripples” celebrates
the shared spirit of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao —
three cities connected by the Pearl River and by unity in motion.

Each ripple reflects the athletes’ sweat and perseverance,
spreading emotion, energy, and connection beyond borders.

💧Every ripple tells a story of collective strength and shared hope.

🚄 A new rhythm for the Northern Metropolis.
Our mobility proposal for San Tin Technopole connects Hong Kong and Shenzhen through a car-free, multi-layered network.

An inner monorail glides above the wetlands, linking elevated I&T clusters;
an automated people-mover flows at ground level, connecting villages and communities.

Quiet, electric, and seamless — this system minimizes land impact while turning movement itself into part of the landscape.
Mobility here is not just transport — it’s connection, ecology, and innovation in motion.

10/10/2025

Why sacrifice nature, when technology can grow with it? 🌱💡

In the government’s baseline plan for San Tin Technopole, half of the existing fishponds are removed to make space for I&T.

We believe there are better solutions.
By lifting new I&T clusters above ground, we keep the ponds and farmlands intact — safeguarding ecology and local livelihoods, while still creating millions of sqm of innovation space.

🌊 Designing the next wave of youth sailing.
Our proposal for the Hong Kong Schools Sailing Association envisions a modern waterfront campus that redefines how space supports sport, learning, and community.

From a reimagined boathouse to new rooftop gardens, training zones, and shared gathering spaces — the design embraces flow, openness, and connection to the sea. Every line is shaped by movement, every material by coastal context.

A future-forward base for nurturing the next generation of sailors.
