Pfluger is proud to support Region 15 ESC with Lakes Center, a new 15,000-square-foot building designed to give people a flexible place to gather, learn, and connect.

Originally considered as an addition, the project became a ground-up building to give Region 15 more opportunity to host events, trainings, and gatherings for community partners. At its center will be a conference space that can subdivide into five rooms, shift for different meeting needs, or open as one continuous gathering space, supporting everything from smaller focused sessions to larger shared experiences.

When completed, a large glass wall will open the conference space to a porch and outdoor space, creating a welcoming setting for connection, collaboration, and shared learning.

We’re proud to help Region 15 create a place that will bring educators, partners, and community members together.

Curiosity was at the center of a morning spent with 22 third-grade students in San Antonio.

As part of UTSA - The University of Texas at San Antonio Kids Initiating Design Solutions (UTSA KIDS), students spent the semester learning about architecture. Their final learning experience brought them to Pfluger’s San Antonio office and Historic Pearl for a closer look at how buildings, stories, and places come together.

Guided by Pfluger Project Architect Agustin Salinas, students learned how our team works, how projects take shape, and how many different people help bring an idea to life. At The Pearl, they explored the history of a former brewery site whose reinvention has helped shape one of San Antonio’s most recognizable destinations for food, gathering, culture, and community.

For students, it was a chance to see architecture beyond the classroom. For our team, it was a reminder that design starts with people, questions, and the places that shape our communities.

Thank you to UTSA KIDS for inviting us to be part of this experience.

Pfluger’s Raleigh Sullivan and Jazmín Méndez spent this past weekend at the Wharton County Junior College (WCJC) Foundation’s Blackjack, Glitz & Glamor Gala, alongside WCJC President Dr. Amanda Allen and a wonderful crowd of supporters and alumni. The evening celebrated 80 years of WCJC and raised meaningful support for scholarships that help students complete their education, build careers, and continue contributing to their communities.

We are excited to partner with WCJC as we help shape a comprehensive master plan for its future. Founded in the post-war era by visionary community leaders who sought to expand educational opportunities for returning servicemen and women, the college has long played an important role in the growth and success of Wharton County.

Over the past several months, we've enjoyed working alongside dedicated faculty, staff, and community members as we learn about their aspirations for the institution's future. Conversations like these are a reminder of the power of higher education to transform lives and strengthen communities. It's evenings like this that inspire us to create something meaningful and enduring for future generations of students and for the communities WCJC serves across the region.

Thank you to the WCJC Foundation for a memorable evening, and congratulations to WCJC on 80 years of impact!

Something incredible is coming for the students at Georgetown ISD's East View High School, and the people who teach them can't wait.

The East View staff have a lot to say about what the new Performing Arts Center will mean for their students. They light up talking about a place where every student can find room to grow, a stage that can welcome an even bigger audience, and tools that match what their students can already do.

The 700-seat auditorium means the whole community can fit in one room for a show. Students will rehearse on a larger-than-life stage with the kind of lighting and rigging they'll encounter in a professional theater, and East View will be able to host UIL competitions on its own campus. Band, choir, orchestra, theater, and visual arts will all share one building, so students in more than one program can move easily between the things they love.

“The addition of the Fine Arts Center is really going to help showcase that this is where our kids perform. This is where our students do great things.”
— Alfonso R. Longoria, Principal, East View High School

This is just the start. What happens inside, the rehearsals, the opening nights, the first time a student runs the light board, is the part worth getting excited about.

A future generation of designers spent the morning with us in San Antonio.

Last week, Pfluger welcomed 80 students from the SAISD-Young Women's Leadership Academy to our San Antonio office and Historic Pearl as part of an architecture class they're taking this semester. We shared how we work and how a project comes together from design through construction, and the students met us with thoughtful questions and fresh perspectives that reminded us why this work matters.

Time at The Pearl offered a chance to trace its history and transformation over the years. Once a 19th-century brewery that closed its doors in 2001, The Pearl has been reborn through adaptive reuse into a thriving mixed-use district, widely regarded as one of the country's best examples of historic preservation and new design working hand in hand. It's a living example of what thoughtful design can do for a place, turning a neighborhood's past into its future.

Thank you to the students and staff of the Young Women's Leadership Academy for spending the morning with us. We design for people first, and San Antonio is stronger when we invest in one another.

Mornings like this are a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.

A new milestone is taking shape at Crockett Early College High School.

Yesterday morning, Pfluger joined Austin ISD’s Construction Management Department and the Campus Architectural Team to celebrate the groundbreaking of Crockett’s new gym. The project marks an exciting first for Austin ISD: the district’s first mass timber building on a campus.

Mass timber offers a warmth, texture, and architectural richness that creates a more human-centered environment than traditional concrete and steel construction. The mass timber addition honors the school's wooded site and connection to community. We’re proud to work alongside Swinerton and Timberlab to help bring this vision to life for Crockett’s students.

The groundbreaking also signals the start of a fine arts renovation within the school’s existing 1960s concrete building, making this an important moment for the entire campus community.

Thank you to Principal Shana King, the Crockett community, Austin ISD, and every partner helping move this work forward. Projects like this are a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.

Big congratulations to Mirelle Giurguis, who is officially a licensed architect in the state of Texas!

Getting here meant passing all six divisions of the Architect Registration Examination and completing every requirement set by the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners. A journey that takes years of experience, deep technical knowledge, and a lot of late nights studying after the workday ends.

We're proud to see her cross this finish line and excited about the impact she'll have on the schools, students, and communities her work will shape across Texas. Way to go, Mirelle!

“Creating the Future” isn’t just a slogan in Burnet CISD. It’s what this community came together to do.

Burnet CISD voters approved a $135 million bond program focused on improving learning environments, strengthening safety and security, modernizing aging facilities, and preparing for continued growth. Projects include a new academic facility at Burnet Middle School, classroom additions, infrastructure upgrades, and districtwide technology improvements.

What stood out most was the community involvement throughout the process. Families, staff, educators, and residents showed up, participated in conversations, and helped shape a shared vision for Burnet CISD students.

Pfluger was proud to support Burnet CISD through community engagement, communications, and architectural storytelling that helped bring that vision to life.

A small East Texas community just made a major investment in its future.

Voters in Elkhart Independent School District approved a $27.5 million bond program focused on improving learning environments, safety and security, fine arts, athletics, traffic flow, and infrastructure across the district.

We were proud to support Elkhart ISD throughout the planning and community engagement process. What stood out most was how engaged the community remained from start to finish — asking great questions, participating in meaningful conversations, and staying involved throughout the process.

Successful bond programs are built on trust, transparency, and community involvement, and Elkhart ISD demonstrated all three.

Congratulations to Elkhart ISD on a successful election. Let's go Elks!
