🚨 ATTENTION POOL OWNERS 🚨
With an additional 10–15 inches of rain forecasted across our area, we want to remind everyone not to lower your pool water level too much before the storm.
✅ If your pool has an overflow, make sure it is clear and functioning properly.
✅ If you need to lower the water level, only lower it to about halfway up your skimmer opening.
❌ Do NOT drain your pool down a foot or more in anticipation of heavy rain.
When the ground becomes saturated, excessive groundwater pressure can cause vinyl liners to float. A floating liner can shift, wrinkle, or even tear, leading to costly repairs.
If your liner does float:
• Stay calm and avoid draining additional water.
• Wait for the rain to pass and water levels to recede.
• As the pool level naturally drops, carefully work the liner back into place if needed.
The safest approach during heavy rainfall is to maintain your water level around the middle of the skimmer and monitor it as conditions change.
