No roofs being touched today because of the rain... 🌧️🛑 Since our crews are grounded, we figured it’s the perfect time to talk shop and answer a question we get from truck lovers almost every day!
Did you know there are over 1️⃣0️⃣9️⃣,0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣➕️ roofing companies across all 5️⃣0️⃣ states? Out of all of them, independent contractors who build a true-to-spec, full-scale monster truck are pretty rare.
We didn’t build this machine just to turn heads on Highway 190. To us, it’s a fun symbol of our business model. In our industry, a lot of companies operate as "brokers"... meaning they don't own their equipment, their trucks, or their warehouses, and they simply sub-contract your project out to someone else.
We choose a different route. We believe in being a fully asset-heavy local company. We own our gear, run our own local warehouses, fabricate our own metal in-house through our sister company Xmetal Distribution LLC, and handle our own projects. To us, the truck represents that foundational commitment to serious machinery and doing things the right way.
For everyone who has stopped by our Belton HQ or sent us a message asking about the build, here is the official breakdown of what's under the hood:
🔧 THE REPAIR SHOP SPEC SHEET:
• Engine: Ford New Holland 6.6L (401 ci) inline-six turbodiesel (the legendary "Ford Brazilian" / Cargo 6.6). Built with a heavy-wall cast block, gear-driven camshaft, direct injection, Garrett T04 turbocharger, mechanical Bosch inline injection pump, and a durable tractor-heritage bottom end.
• Transmission: Medium-duty synchronized Eaton manual transmission (Brazilian FS series), a dependable vocational chassis staple built for the long haul.
• Transfer Case: High-performance SCS (Straightline Custom Specialties) drop box. A dedicated quick-change case designed to correct extreme driveshaft angles and handle heavy shock loads.
• Axles: Military-grade Rockwell 5-ton front steer axle (with double-reduction gearing and massive 2-inch shafts) paired with a heavy-duty GM 5-ton rear to handle the immense rotational mass.
• Body & Chassis: Classic 1986-1987 Ford F-700 cab with a full fiberglass tilt-forward hood.
We love being a part of the Central Texas community, whether we're bringing the truck out to local parades or helping our neighbors protect their homes with real, local accountability.
Built BIG. Built STRONG. Built LOCAL. 🛠️
Stay safe and dry out there this Friday, Central Texas! 🌧
