Roofers~ FLASH THE FASCIA!

This customer had other roofing companies make repairs in the wrong area, and had an insulation company add more insulation trying to solve this ice damning issue.

The real issue? Not properly flashed!

Michigan roofs experience lots of snow and ice, and while adequate insulation in your attic can absolutely contribute to minimizing ice damning, Ice will still build up in areas. That’s why it’s super important to flash areas that are prone to ice build up!

Mi Roof recently completed a project that included replacing the roof on this beautiful farmhouse built in 1927, located in Wayland, Michigan. The original roof featured a cedar shake roof, which then was covered with a standing seam metal roof after the homes first 50-60 years. The metal panels were getting tired and worn, and the roof needed revitalizing.

Our team stripped both existing roof systems down to the roof deck of this house and re-sheathed the entire roof with 1/2” plywood. We then applied high temperature ice and water barrier to the entire roof deck, and finally installed new textured evergreen 16” standing seam metal panels.

To enhance the roofs durability, snow rails were installed on all bottom edges to ensure longevity for this roof system. Thank you to the Strader family, we are grateful for the opportunity to work on this home and we take great pride in contributing to this homes preservation, aiming to ensure its longevity for another century!

Knocking out winter repairs for our customers👍 This repair included all ridge vent/ cap to be replaced, and a chimney reflash as both were failing,causing leaks inside the home.
