It’s so calming (and exciting!) to watch (and listen!) to all of the pollinators visiting our cup plants! FOUR bumbles on one flower! And look - we have a cup plant blooming pale yellow with petals that are quite narrow (see the difference in color versus the "normal" cup plants blooming in the background)? Have we discovered Silphium perfoliatum var. Avonlea? 😅 Has anyone else ever seen this happen?

Here's the second plant sale we will be at on Sept 12th! The West Creek Reservation’s Nature Forum and Native Plant Sale has two talks and two nature hikes – with Jim McCormac (who is an AMAZING speaker and I highly recommend you attend!) and Jen Brumfield (who I have never heard personally but the topic looks great!). Normally we keep the nursery open on plant sale days, but that same day we are also participating in the Friends of Heights Parks Native Plant Sale in Cleveland Heights, so our nursery will be closed Sat. Sept. 12th. We will all be "sale-ing!" Hope to see you at one of the sales!

We are super excited to participate in the Friends of Heights Parks Native Plant Sale again! Normally we keep the nursery open on plant sale days, but that same day we are also participating in a Native Plant Sale at CMP's West Creek Reservation, so our nursery will be closed Sat. Sept. 12th. We will all be "sale-ing!" Hope to see you at one of the sales! :)

Look at how beautiful our propagation area looks! And look at all of our little visitors! These plants were randomly placed next to each other as seedlings, and now look great together! Purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea), dense blazing star (Liatris spicata and Liatris spicata alba), pale-leaved sunflower (Helianthus strumosus), and monkey flower (Mimulus ringens) are the more prominent ones in the photo. Come out and see what else we have!

Hello friends!

We'd like to share a few dates that the nursery will be closed.

Friday August 28th - closed to attend a vendor field day

Saturday September 12th - closed to participate in two local plant sales. You can find us at the Friends of Heights Parks plant sale at the Forest Hill Presbyterian Church in Cleveland Heights AND the Cleveland Metroparks Nature Forum at the West Creek Reservation’s Watershed Stewardship Center in Parma.

Thursday September 24 through Monday October 5th for an out-of-town family wedding and vacation - the first vacation in two years! We will reopen Tuesday October 6th.

Keep planting! We have TONS of inventory! 😊

We will be at Munson Township’s Community Day Picnic tomorrow, August 1! It’s going to be a fun day! We love participating in events within our community! Our nursery will also be open from 10am - 5pm. 😊
