Good design doesn't happen by accident. It takes a process that brings the right people and ideas together.

In the 1990s, Gerry Hammond’s Schoolhouse of Quality helped SHP put that belief into practice, creating a more deliberate, client-driven approach to design. It was a shift that would help define how we work for decades to come.

Last Friday was a big day for Springboro students!

We recently broke ground on two projects that will bring something new to campus: spaces designed specifically for the students and athletes who will use them.

The new Springboro Athletic Complex will bring soccer, lacrosse, and tennis directly to the high school campus, giving teams their own home base with new playing surfaces, courts, seating, locker rooms, a film room, and more. At Springboro Junior High, additions and renovations will create new classrooms and refreshed spaces to support students and staff.

We’re excited to watch these projects take shape and, even more, to see what they make possible for the Springboro community.

Some buildings become part of a place’s identity. The Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption is one of them.

Cincinnati Magazine recently took a closer look at the restoration of this 125-year-old Covington landmark, including the work led by our own Brandi Ash to help preserve its intricate stonework, chimera, and gargoyles for generations to come.

With no original architectural drawings to work from, the team turned to detailed building surveys and 3D scanning to understand the Basilica from every angle. The goal was simple: preserve what makes this place extraordinary and create a solution built to last.

Last month, we came together to celebrate a party 125 years in the making. And it did not disappoint.

We kicked things off with an SHP lunch at the iconic Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park, where the Mayor of Hamilton joined us for a special dedication, before gathering with friends and clients that evening at the SHP-designed Fitton Center. We transformed the space into a gallery of SHP history, projects, and the people who have shaped our story along the way.

We’re so proud of the legacy you’ve built with us, and we can’t wait to see where the next 125 takes us.

Mental health is not one person’s responsibility. It takes all of us.

As we recognize World Mental Health Day tomorrow, we’re reflecting on the importance of creating a culture where people feel supported, protected, and empowered to seek care. That work extends beyond healthcare alone. It calls for every part of our society to recognize the role we can play in people’s well-being.

At SHP, our mission has always been about helping people. That’s what makes our partnership with OneQuest Health so meaningful. We’re proud to work alongside people like Rick, who are helping destigmatize the conversation around mental health and the shared responsibility we all have in supporting one another.

We are proud to share that Peck Expeditionary Learning School has been recognized as a Learning by Design Grand Prize winner in the Early Childhood/Elementary School category!

As designers, it is so important that a project's ideas and vision translate to reality. Peck was designed around a connected approach to learning, bringing together classrooms, shared spaces, outdoor environments, and the broader community to create a school that feels like an ecosystem rather than a collection of rooms.

We’re grateful to our partners at Guilford County Schools and proud to see Peck receive this recognition!
