At 17 Thomas Street, the approach began with preserving the home’s most significant architectural character. Inside, many of the original room proportions remained intact, while new functions, millwork and finishes gave those spaces renewed purpose.

How do you describe your design approach?

For Dale, it starts with context. Every home should respond to where it sits, how the property is shaped and what surrounds it.

A home designed for an expansive two-acre lot will naturally take a different approach than one created for a narrow urban property. The goal is not to replicate what is already there, but to use scale, proportion and architectural character to create a home that feels distinctive, comfortable and connected to its setting.
