A beautiful finish on the eve of Thanksgiving. The Viessmann CU3A High Mass boiler, matched with a 79-gallon storage tank, provides an endless supply of hot water. It's nice to have a blank canvas. For those curious, the grand total required is approximately 100 man-hours, excluding additional resources needed for the tear-out, new wall, and epoxy floor.

The week in review. Old boiler showdown. Started with a condemned 1960-70’s Hydrotherm that dry fired and nearly caused a catastrophic event, proceeded to a 70-year-old Triad that another company was unable to repair (we installed a $12 part and relit the pilot), and concluded with another 60+ year-old Crane Sunnyday boiler. If you are a customer with hot water or steam heating, ensure you contact us for any of your service or repair needs.

This is not my plumbing job but I did assist and help to repair the damage.

This is the result of a chipmunk that burrowed under the concrete slab and chewed the pex water lines until they burst. This home “pole barn house” was built in traverse city on zone 6 with a 2’ perimeter rat wall and they still had this severity of damage. Food for thought while constructing different ideas and techniques to build your new home.

Long time and no post. A very select few will understand this small tragedy but a majority will not understand.
Back story…… this is my tool pouch, I’ve had it for almost 23 years and counting. Not all know this but i started working in this industry at age 17, I became a licensed constractor by age 20 and then a licensed boiler contractor at age 28
My tool bag has more stories than your grandmas uncle and has traveled well over 1 million miles and then some

My leather Dr has assured me that we can get it fixed, stitched, reinforced and have some R&R with treatment, conditioning and waxing. Cant wait to share the results
