Today we look back at one of our residential projects from the past: A greek revival row house renovation and rear addition in the Brooklyn Heights historic district. In contrast to the intimate spaces and historic details of the original, the new modern addition is bright and open. While the new addition revolves around a dark cherry millwork element, glass skylights along the perimeter walls and glass floor bring in an ever changing play of light emphasizing the openness of the space.

This Park Slope brownstone had a small kitchen in the middle of the parlor with no natural light. We relocated it to the back of the house and opened up the back wall to connect it with a new steel deck. Interior design by
