Hard to believe it was two weeks ago that I made it back to High Point for the first time in years! I overdid it with events and was dog tired (as my grandma would say) when I got home, but it was a good time!

Six days out from High Point Market and my calendar is already written in ink.

Podcast panel on Friday with THE and

HPMKT Insider Tour - a few spots are still available! Made Goods, Four Hands, Julian Chichester, Arteriors, Jaipur - mimosas, lunch, and loads of fun. Link in bio if you want to join.

Podcast - Messy Middle Mixer with at on Saturday.

Plus every showroom I can get into for sourcing for Joy Street Design.

Whew - I’m tired already!

If you’ll be in High Point, find me. If you won’t, follow along.

See you at Market.

😍😍 This butlers pantry is the type of space I dream about often. Super functional, high color and contrast, and. This was the original kitchen before the renovation - we moved that and turned this into the ultimate scullery. I couldn’t be happier with it. Swipe to see the other side and the before.

This weekend, I finally made my way to for their Andre Tally Leon exhibit. I don’t pretend to have more than a superficial knowledge about him but it was fabulously done and great to see the fashion. The thing I loved the most was the attention to detail and various sized mannequins that really told a story about his evolution - not just body changes but facial edits as well. They told a wonderful story. Bravo.

Thanks to for organizing this special viewing.

If you saw my stories last week, you know that I was in Paris and London for work - seeing new product lines, absorbing all the inspiration, and just really enjoying the experience (excluding the getting deathly sick part).

I’m back now and feeling more energized than ever. This was a great opportunity to remind myself how travel ignites my love for everything - life, food, design, fashion, etc. Sometimes I get so caught up in just checking off places that I want to see that I forget the real reason I dreamed of this life living in the ghettos of Chicago.

2025 was a year where I felt as if I lost some of my joy for my work. The difficulties in maintaining two offices, inconsistent employees, traveling 82K miles (according to Delta), and trying to maintain the same level of service for the JSD clients - was A LOT. Over the last few months, I’ve been working on finding it - and have new endeavors that are part of this (podcast 🤪). But the biggest help was my last 4 months of amazing travel - Japan, Kenya, France, London, Colorado, California, NY, etc.

Here’s to 2026 continuing to inspire with travel to new places but also being more intentional about finding places that bring joy and not just sights. I’m hoping to stay home more and travel to less places but stay longer.

Two weeks ago, I had the honor of taking home ✨✨GOLD✨✨ at the Georgia Design Awards — recognized for this bold Lake House kitchen.

What started as a dark, dated galley is now a bright, connected space with serious personality. We expanded the layout, opened the view, and layered in warmth, movement, and color — from the aubergine-veined marble to those unapologetically red stools. Every decision had a purpose, and the result? A kitchen that feels as joyful as the family who lives here.

Big thanks to and for the recognition — and to my team for making magic, as always.

I’m a woman of many talents… and contradictions. Super efficient, but always underestimating how long things actually take (my team LOVES that). I push boundaries like it’s my job, but deep down I just want everyone to be happy — especially our clients. I can plan the perfect trip… and still make some questionable choices along the way. 🙃

Like deciding an 18-hour trip to LA from Atlanta is “totally doable.” Every time I book it, I think I’m a genius. Every time I’m on the return red-eye, I’m questioning all my life decisions.

My best friend always says, “You thought you were cooking with this idea, didn’t you?” Yep. Every single time.

But hey — I got to check on a project and made it home in time to pretend I care about the parent-teacher conference. We’ll call it a win. 😂✈️

It’s 58 degrees and rainy in Atlanta and LA is supposed to hit 90 today. Cue this picture of a favorite JSD San Francisco project that balances how I’m feeling about said weather shift. 😂

We’re growing and I need a Studio Manager who can keep up!

I run a fast, creative, slightly chaotic design studio (and a nonprofit on the side), and I need someone who can make it all run like clockwork without losing their cool or their sense of humor.

If you’re the kind of person who thrives on deadlines, loves a good spreadsheet, and doesn’t get flustered when the plan changes mid-day… this might be your dream job.

You’ll handle the day-to-day operations of Joy Street Design and Joy Street Initiative, working directly with me to keep clients happy, projects moving, and the wheels turning behind the scenes.

No divas. No micromanagers. Just smart, capable people who get things done and like to laugh while doing it (with a drink if it’s really bad 🍸)
