Planting and mulching today!

If you have barberry, please consider removing them. They are invasive and terrible for our environment.
Spreads easily: Birds eat the berries and spread seeds; low branches can root where they touch the ground (layering).
Forms dense stands: Outcompetes native understory plants, reducing biodiversity.
Tick habitat: Creates ideal microclimates (high humidity, low light) for ticks, especially black-legged ticks, and provides shelter for their hosts (white-footed mice).

In place of the barberry I added ‘minuet’ wegelia. I also replaced the failing boxwood. For the light pole area, I added 5 ‘rose marvel’ salvia. A hardy perennial that reblooms. I love the simple neat and tidy look.
