Zoom in on the background of this archival photograph, and you’ll find a piece of our history: a Russell distributor truck helping a local crew tackle a chip seal project (chipping by hand!) on Spring Run Road back in April 1948.

Early field applications like the manual tar-and-chip operation pictured here laid the groundwork for the advanced asphalt materials we manufacture and apply today.

The most expensive road repair is the one that happens too late.
