💗 Dolly forever 💗

This week all 5 of the Streptocarpus (Cape Primrose) came in flowering bright pink! Clearly this is a sign from Dolly herself! The Streptocarpus in Lily Bean’s 🦎 tank has also been blooming non stop! 🌺 These plants are perfect for tropical bioactive enclosures because they love having wet feet.

Dolly is frequently playing in store but now more than ever!

Astounding Aloe! ☀️

Introducing our August Plant of the Month…Aloe! Aloes are flowering succulents comprising of 500 different species in the genus. Aloe vera, is a popular plant that has been used for centuries for it medicinal properties.

Aloes need at least 6 hours of full sun a day to thrive. You can also achieve this by using a strong grow light for 8-12 hours a day. Like most succulents, Aloe go dormant in the winter. This means they need to be watered less often.

Scared to repot your cacti? 🌵 We are here to help!

Even though most cacti like being in small pots, it is still important to do soil changes every couple years to avoid the soil becoming hydrophobic (unable to absorb water) or too compact.

To repot a cactus we recommend using a mix of cactus soil, perlite, and charcoal. We use this mixture for cactuses, succulents, Euphorbia, ZZ plants, Snake Plants, and Ficus.

Now is the perfect time to report your cacti because all cactus and succulent soils are 20% off for the month of July!
