Today, we’re celebrating Hannah’s two-year anniversary as a full-time member of our team! 🎊

Hannah's journey at the firm began in 2023 as an Interior Design Intern while she was still in college. After graduation, she joined the team full-time as an Interior Designer, and we've had the pleasure of seeing her creativity and talent grow. We're grateful for all she brings to the team and look forward to seeing the impact she continues to make in the years ahead!

This week, we're highlighting two of our projects at Augustana University: the Madsen Social Sciences Center and the Edith Mortenson Center, home to Augustana University Theatre. Designed and constructed simultaneously, both projects broke ground in 1998. 📝🎭

The Madsen Social Science Center was created to bring together the social science disciplines, which had previous been scattered across campus. The building houses faculty offices and classrooms, with a strong emphasis on creating inviting spaces where students would feel welcome and want to gather. One of its most distinctive features is the second-floor skyway connecting the classroom and office wings, a unique addition to campus at the time.

The Edith Mortenson Center is an adaptive reuse of the Old Gymnasium building.
To accommodate the theatre's technical needs, the original gym ceiling was removed, allowing catwalks to be incorporated within the existing truss structure. The first-floor entrance lobby was carefully restores, preserving its historic character and returning it to its original grandeur.

Sanford Health is expanding its Sioux Falls campus with the addition of Medical Building 4, a new, two-story, 52,000-square-foot facility. 🏥🧑🏼‍⚕️🩺

This building will become the new home for Sanford's dermatology and plastic surgery practices, bringing both services under one roof. It will feature 46 exam rooms, 15 treatment rooms, four procedure rooms, two infection rooms, a lab and a laser room.

Architecture Incorporated is excited to continue its longstanding relationship with Sanford and to deliver a new, state-of-the-art facility that will serve Sanford, its staff, and the community for years to come.

In 1997, the drawings for the new Canton School District High School were finalized. The new facility was designed to preserve the appearance of the original building, which had become structurally inadequate. The community wanted to maintain the classical exterior image of the original building, which was reflected in the new design through salvaged architectural elements that are now located at the entry and library windows. The new building also introduced several new amenities, including a cafetorium, large library, and both varsity and auxiliary gymnasiums. 🏫📚

To join in the fun, our team designed a custom mini golf hole inspired by our newly unveiled logo, bringing our recent rebrand to life in a creative and interactive way.

Jason, alongside APX, participated in the 19th Annual DakotAbilities Golf Classic in Sioux Falls! ⛳🏌🏼

He joined 144 golfers from across the community in support of DakotaAbilities, helping raise funds for the organization's important work. It was a great day on the course for an even greater cause.

The new Rapid City / Black Hills KOA General Store is officially open! 🏕️👏🏼

Designed to support the campground's growing popularity, this new facility includes a KOA registration area, expanded retail space, meeting rooms, laundry facilities, restrooms, showers, and a kitchen dedicated to its famous pancake breakfasts. 🥞

Architecture Incorporated was proud to partner with MAC Construction on this project that enhances the guest experience while serving both the local community and visitors from across the country. We're excited to see the positive impact this new space will have for years to come!

This year marked the completion of the headquarters for LodgeNet (now SONIFI Solutions) in Sioux Falls. 🏢

The campus was designed to include a warehouse and assembly facility, two two-story open-office buildings, a multipurpose cafetorium, and a showcase administration building. Exterior split-face masonry in a blend of warm colors helped create a welcoming campus atmosphere while softening the scale of the expansive complex. Inside, the design successfully balanced the need for security with the company's vision of encouraging employee connection and community.
