Spring has sprung here in the Greater St. Louis Area!

I have availability to take a few last minute spring install clients!

*Book me for a "Habitat Consultation & Report".
Would you like new nature habitat gardens or new help to improve one?
If you have any open ground in your habitat or you're weeding too much it's time to fill in the gaps with a custom native plant list for all your microclimates. The denser your habitats the healthier they are, this also means less weeds and much less flop of taller perennials! Let a local horticulturist be your researcher & planner so you can do the things!

*Book me for " Habitat Stewardship"
Do you need help catching up or is life getting to the point you need help with your habitat & ecological stewardship labor this year? Yep, that's called weeding, pruning, and filling in the gaps with new plants. Let a native plant specialist & master naturalist do the handy work to enhance and preserve your landscape! Now offering 25% off with my monthly maintenance packages!

*Book me for a new " Native Plant Design"
Talk a walk around your property in heavy storm events. Do you have areas that stormwater is moving through your turf or other personal property areas? That's a perfect spot for a bioswale rain garden filled with native plants to slow the water to the watershed, protect habitats by reducing flooding & erosion downstream, and providing new habitat at home!
What's more? There's a great opportunity if you live in St. Louis you may be eligible for a grant through MSD, our sewer district, to help cover costs of implementing rain gardens. Email me for more info at [email protected]

Visit my website, purplemartincoaching.com, to learn more about all my services & request your initial site-visit with me. Allow me to support you and get the ball rolling on the plans and designs for any size native plant habitat garden you'd like to see come to life!

It's not too early to get booked for Fall 2026 install design plans!

One may call or text me at 636-442-3836

***Garden Hotline Listeners***

Bring your pruners, gloves, rakes, loppers, tarps, and your muscles to help us with the continued efforts to clean-up North City. It's hard to believe we are one year past this devastating event with so much left to do. This community and our fellow humans need our help. I believe gardeners have the perfect skillset to help with this job.

Please RSVP by emailing Grassroots Redeeming Love at [email protected] or visiting their website

https://redeeminglove-stl.org/

They will send an exact location for the clean-up a week before the event to all those who rsvp. If you can't join us, please consider making a donation.

Grassroots Redeeming Love has had boots on the ground since day one. Let's help them and this community by showing up with our gardening tools and spirit.

Please share!

Chionanthus virginicus (kee-oh-NAN-thus ver-JIN-ih-kus) or white fringe tree is in bloom and the white flowers are fragrant. This tree, in the olive family, is native to Missouri. It grows best in full-part sun with the best foliage in partial shade and the best flowering in full sun. It can get 12-20’ tall and wide. Plant in average-rich, well-drained neutral-alkaline soil. It can tolerate clay soil and also tolerates some drought. This tree has some susceptibility to scale and borers (particularly when stressed by drought). It is sometimes attacked by the emerald ash borer. Despite that, it’s one of my favorite flowering native trees.
