BEFORE & AFTER -

By any account, Liza MinEggli is a beautiful chicken. She is a Golden Laced Wyandotte and has the standoffish demeanor befitting one of Her fancy-breed status. Sometimes, when the others aren't around (and even though She doesn't need more padding to Her attitude), I secretly confess to Her that She is the prettiest hen in the flock.
.....unfortunately, this time of year, no one is safe from that hard molt. 😬🫣🤣 Poor girl's lookin' so raggedy!!

This gorgeous creature stopped by the farm today looking for some chicken supper. She appeared just as we herded all the hens into the coop for the night, and then soared away shrieking in disappointment.

October goals:
🥹 Don't get sad that everything is wilting away
🏠 Clean up greenhouse
🏺 Organize flowerpots
🫘 Save seeds for next year
🌸 Pick the last of the blooms to press
🫖 Finish drying tea leaves
..and, I can't believe I'm saying this...

🌿 Keep pulling weeds 🤦🏻‍♀️

What are we all doing with the profusion of basil that's NOT slowing down???

Green RRR is a Pesto Obsessed Household - we eat it with pasta, meat, or eggs. The freezer holds several ziplocs full of it for winter. Now it's soup szn and I'm feeling creative.....

Ideas??

It's exactly 5 feet long.
And that's the one he wiggled OUT of.
