Changing of the guard!

We want to take a moment to let you all know about some important changes within our business and to acknowledge the people who continue to help carry this company forward.

Brian Bawdon – former General Manager
After seven years of tireless commitment as General Manager, Brian has asked to step down from the role. This decision has not come lightly. During his time leading the business, Brian has done so while facing his own health challenges and navigating some of the toughest industry conditions we have seen.

Before becoming General Manager, Brian had already given this company more than twenty years of hard work, loyalty, and dedication. That is a lifetime of service and something we will never forget. Brian has always led by example, with a work ethic that is second to none. It is clear those values were instilled in him by his parents, who helped shape the man we all know today. Brian has chosen to focus more on his family and improving his own health, including becoming more active and prioritising his wellbeing. We fully support Brian's decision.

Thankfully, Brian is not leaving us. He will continue in a support role to assist both the incoming General Manager and our Operations Manager, ensuring his wealth of knowledge and experience remains a valuable part of J & S Drilling.

Glenn Summerfield – new General Manager
We are pleased to announce that Glenn has accepted the position and commenced in the role on Monday, the 11th of May.
Glenn brings extensive leadership experience, having previously held the position of General Manager for twelve years at Egan Drilling. He also brings strong operational knowledge in both RC and Water-Well drilling in WA’s Pilbara and Goldfields regions.

We are confident Glenn will do an excellent job in leading the company forward, especially with the continued support of Brian and the wider management team.

Leland Balandra Class 1 Water Well Licence

Congratulations to one of our valued team members, Leland Balandra, on successfully completing his WA Class 1 Water Well Licence – a major achievement in his drilling career in Australia.

Leland has been a valued employee of J&S Drilling for over three years, and his positivity, dedication, and commitment to continual growth have been unmatched throughout his time with our company.

Alongside several other valued employees from the Philippines, Leland has continued to impress through his professionalism, strong attitude, and eagerness to further develop his skills within the Australian drilling industry.

This achievement is a testament to Leland’s hard work and determination, and we look forward to seeing his continued success as part of the J&S Drilling team.

Your hard work, dedication, and influence on the team over the years will not be forgotten. You've been an invaluable member of the team, and the workplace will not be the same without you.

Central QLD – Domestic Water Bores

J&S Drilling has recently completed a series of domestic water bores across Central Queensland, maintaining strong productivity despite weather-related project delays.

Favourable ground conditions allowed for efficient drilling using rotary air and down-the-hole hammer methods, with the team seamlessly transitioning to mud drilling where required. This adaptability ensured consistent progress and successful bore installations across varying conditions.

All works were completed by licensed water well drillers in accordance with industry standards, delivering reliable groundwater solutions for our clients.
