The Little Barns at FarmED bring together a 14-metre-spanning timber diagrid structure with h**p insulation, h**pcrete wall linings and reclaimed stone from the original barns 🪨.
Working alongside CHCx3, FarmED and UK H**pcrete on this research project, the new education barn explores the potential of locally sourced h**p fibre, h**p shiv (h**p hurd) and h**pcrete in construction 🌱.
The project demonstrates how traditional materials and innovative design can work hand in hand, creating spaces that put sustainability, efficiency and our connection to place at their heart.
We believe h**p has an important role to play in the future of UK construction and agriculture, helping to create buildings that are better for both people and the planet 🌍.
