It's incredible to look back almost a decade on a project that truly showcased the power of adaptive reuse! Nine years ago, our team had the privilege of transforming a historic, yet long-vacant, old pub into a collection of stylish, modern apartments for our friends at a property development company.
This was more than just a renovation; it was an exercise in preserving the building's original character—keeping some beautiful features, high ceilings and using architectural salvage, while integrating all the comforts of contemporary living.
We're so proud of the work we did in breathing new life into that local landmark.
The building was situated within a sensitive conservation area, which meant the entire project was subject to strict council dictations. This demanded numerous cool, bespoke tweaks to the exterior facade and material choices to ensure the new design blended seamlessly into the surrounding historic streetscape.
We couldn't have navigated these challenges without a fantastic team of highly skilled subcontractors—the specialist bricklayers, carpenters, roofers, scaffolders, plasterers and conservation experts whose dedication made that intricate balance of old and new possible.
