So, do the window frames stay or go? That’s the question that comes up in almost every renovation project. And the answer is never the same. 😉
It depends on the condition of the wood, the type of glass, the thermal and acoustic performance, and the extent to which the original frames are part of the building's identity.
When it’s possible to keep them, we do. But when the original frames no longer meet modern comfort standards, we design new ones with the same profile and proportions. From the outside, the design remains unchanged. Inside, everything changes: better sound insulation and improved thermal performance.
That’s exactly what we did for this project. Viewed from the street, you can’t tell them apart from the originals. But the people living inside feel the difference the moment the first winter arrives.
