Three Miller Hull projects have been longlisted for the 2026 Archello Awards!

The New U.S. Consulate General Guadalajara and New U.S. Consulate General Mérida are both longlisted in the Government Building of the Year category, while the Central Library at Stevens Ranch is longlisted for Library Building of the Year.

This year, we welcomed Shafiul and Andrew to our San Diego studio as six-month interns, giving them the opportunity to dive into project work, learn from our team, and experience the collaborative process behind our work.

They’ve also found community through weekly Design Panels, where colleagues come together to share ideas, ask questions, and learn from one another.

The C Concourse Expansion at SEA is featured in BUILDINGS, with Miller Hull partner Brian Court sharing insight into how design shapes the passenger experience.

The project expanded the concourse's original footprint from 81,000 to 229,500 square feet, adding four floors, dynamic electrochromic glass, a 500-kW photovoltaic array, and SEA’s first public outdoor space on the airside.

As Brian explains about the Lookout at C, “It has the same benefits as operable windows. Flying can take a toll, so the ability to step outside for fresh air can help people recharge. The glass is still full height for safety, but there are small gaps so travelers can feel the temperature and even rain.”

The Point Roberts Land Port of Entry is an example of how essential infrastructure can also serve as a civic gateway.

Located at the westernmost U.S. Port of Entry along the 49th parallel, the project marks the international boundary while fitting naturally into its forested setting. At the heart of the design is a dramatic, bridge-like entry canopy over the primary inspection booths, inspired by the masts and sails of the boats surrounding Point Roberts.

As a meeting point between two nations, the design embraces the act of crossing an international boundary and gives the everyday experience of arriving and departing a distinct sense of place.

For decades, Miller Hull has approached gateway projects as opportunities to make essential infrastructure visible and celebrate civic identity.

A big congratulations to the Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce on multiple wins at the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association
awards!

The DJC’s Sustainable Building & Design special section took first place in the Lifestyle/Culture Sections category, with Populus Seattle featured on the cover. Architecture & Engineering Editor Emma Hinchliffe also earned third place in the Business Feature Story category for her coverage of Populus Seattle’s opening.

We’re excited to share that The Loop, Moorhead Community Center & Public Library, has received a 2026 AIA North Dakota General Honor Award, the organization’s top recognition for project design.

Designed by Miller Hull in collaboration with JLG Architects, The Loop brings library services, recreation, entrepreneurship, and community gathering spaces together under one roof, creating a new civic hub at the heart of downtown Moorhead.

Before summer wrapped up, our two studios took some time to step away, get outside, and reconnect. The San Diego team gathered for a park picnic and games, while our Seattle studio headed to Ocean Shores. A chance to recharge, spend time together, and enjoy the last stretch of summer before diving into the season ahead.

On World Architecture Day, we’re celebrating two Miller Hull projects honored by Metropolis Magazine Planet Positive Awards, which highlight excellence in sustainable, healthy, and just design across the built environment.

The Newhouse Replacement Building received an Innovation Award in Overall Decarbonization for its approach to material reuse, low-carbon mass timber construction, all-electric systems, and healthier materials. Compared to a conventional steel-and-concrete baseline, the project reduces upfront embodied carbon by 52%.

Redmond Library received a Project Award in the Civic category for its role as a welcoming civic living room, with flexible spaces, outdoor gathering areas, and a photovoltaic array sized to meet 100% of the building’s annual energy demand.

Architecture has a role to play in shaping healthier communities and a more resilient planet. We’re proud to see these two projects celebrated for putting that responsibility into practice.

We’re celebrating the ribbon cutting of the Oasis Community Center, a welcoming hub at the heart of UC Irvine’s first-year housing community.

Designed to support gathering, studying, socializing, and simply finding a place to call home, the Oasis creates space for students to connect, recharge, and build community as they begin their campus journey.
