I had a great time today sitting in on 1st year student reviews! Students presented their ideas for 20’x20’ temporary shelters at a park located to the west of Georgia Avenue across from the university. The models were nicely crafted and I especially appreciated the movable elements for retractable openings, etc. Thanks to Vinson for the invite!

We recently completed our 2nd kitchen in Takoma Park, right next door to our previous kitchen remodel project ! The new open kitchen more than doubles the footprint of the previous galley layout. We also relocated the powder room and remodeled the primary bath.

This year we went all in on small express projects like this one, with design/permit turnaround times in as little as a few weeks. Perfect for when you want to have the house ready for a big milestone like a birthday or another kid on the way and don’t want to wait.

It’s been a 4 year journey to complete this project in Bethesda, Maryland. This included a hiatus during the pandemic when construction prices got crazy but there’s always light at the end of the tunnel. We now have a gorgeous multi-generational home, with terraced outdoor living to boot.

Happy belated ! I hope you all were outdoors celebrating all that nature has to offer. I’ve been enjoying the recent cherry blossoms, as well as exploring the trails of rock creek park. Recently we also discovered the nature inspired art of here in the DMV.

It’s always a pleasure working with landscape designers like to create a seamless blend of architecture and outdoor spaces. Our Brookland backyard project with them has been the gift that keeps on giving.

Our list of Green Homes is ever expanding. Two homes received solar panels last years and a new Solar Accessory Dwelling is in the works . We look forward to working with more homeowners that share our commitment to our planet.
