Happy Halloween from HFG!

Our team showed up with some impressive costumes for this year’s contest! Creativity was taken to the next level with a little friendly competition, and the fun continued with a visit from a few trick-or-treaters. We love seeing our team come together and make the most of the holiday!

We had a great time at the Healthcare Design Conference & Expo last week!

Connecting with fellow healthcare design professionals gave us fresh insight into new ways to shape the future of healthcare environments. We were also glad to share our own, with a session led by our Healthcare Architect, Connor Crist. Thank you to the panelists who joined him to discuss Healthcare as Community Infrastructure: How AAH Design Excellence Measures Impact Beyond Care.

Thank you to everyone we connected with along the way. We’re grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this community!

It’s been a busy few weeks at HFG, and we’ve loved being out in the community!

Our Kansas City team joined the KU AIAS Portfolio Review Night, our Wichita office hosted a social hour to welcome our new St. Louis team members, and Diamond wrapped up her term as AIA KC’s Elections Committee Co-Chair at their annual Big Night.

We're grateful for a team that shows up for the profession, the community, and each other.

Thank you, LegacyWorks, for an unforgettable Build a Legacy Benefit!

HFG is proud to sponsor an organization that brings people together and makes such a lasting difference. It’s a privilege to work alongside their team, and we’re grateful to have been part of a night that celebrated what this community can do together.

Accessibility is about more than meeting code requirements. It’s about designing spaces that work better for everyone.

At AIA Oklahoma's Conference on Architecture, Elizabeth Robertson explored how the ADA, FGI Guidelines, universal design, and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) can help architects move beyond compliance to create environments that promote safety, dignity, independence, and well-being.

These standards reflect real human needs, including those that may be temporary, invisible, or situational. By approaching accessibility through a people-centered lens, architects can turn requirements into opportunities for more inclusive, thoughtful design that improves the experience for all users.

HFG is making the most of the fall season with a get-together!

Our team and their families recently got together to enjoy the season, share good food, and spend time together outside the office. It was a great chance to relax, catch up, and make memories beyond the workday.

Making space for moments like these helps keep our team connected, both in and out of the office!

HFG is heading to New Orleans for the 2026 Healthcare Design Conference + Expo this weekend!

Our team is looking forward to connecting with fellow healthcare design professionals, sharing ideas, and exploring new ways to shape the future of healthcare environments.

Connor Crist will also be leading a session on Healthcare as Community Infrastructure: How AAH Design Excellence Measures Impact Beyond Care, discussing how healthcare design can make a difference beyond the walls of a facility.

If you’ll be there, we’d love to connect!

This week marks Healthcare Security & Safety Week, an opportunity to recognize the role thoughtful planning and design play in creating safer healthcare environments.

Creating safer spaces requires more than responding to security concerns. It means identifying potential vulnerabilities and considering how the built environment can support safety from the earliest stages of planning and design.

Through our Security Risk Assessment & Design initiative, HFG applies Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles to evaluate how visibility, access, circulation, and other environmental factors can influence safety. By collaborating with healthcare organizations and their security teams, we translate these considerations into practical design strategies that support patients, families, and care teams.
