A special milestone at Newman University! 💙

Today, Newman officially blessed its newly renovated Marian Grotto, marking the completion of a project that gives this longtime campus landmark a fresh, welcoming presence.

The updated grotto provides a beautiful outdoor space for reflection, gathering and enjoying the campus surroundings, while honoring the history and character of the original site.

We’re proud to have been part of this project alongside our GC partner, Dondlinger Construction, helping create a space that will be enjoyed by the Newman community for years to come.

Today, the National Park Service celebrates its 110th birthday—and this year’s National Park Week theme, “Celebrate America’s Story,” is a reminder of the powerful role places play in shaping our communities.

From iconic landmarks and historic buildings to parks, public spaces and gathering places, the places we create become part of the stories people carry with them.

LK Architecture was proud to be part of the design team for the Keeper of the Plains riverfront improvements—a project that connects people to the river, celebrates our heritage and has become a lasting symbol of Wichita.

A new home for a critical service.

The new Sumner County 911 facility is being designed with one priority in mind: keeping emergency communications operating when they’re needed most. From hardened construction and enhanced security to updated technology and a quieter environment for dispatchers, every aspect of the facility was thoughtfully considered for the people who rely on it—and the professionals who keep the community connected to emergency services.

We’re proud to be part of a project designed for resilience, reliability, and the future of emergency response in Sumner County.

When severe weather strikes, Sumner County 911 is the vital link between people who need help and the professionals who respond. The new facility now under construction is designed to keep that vital link operating when it is needed most.

We’re excited to see the next phase of the Amber Ridge Neighborhood Park project moving forward in Derby! 🌳

Working alongside the City of Derby and neighborhood residents, our landscape team helped shape a park concept that reflects the community’s needs and vision. After several opportunities for public input, the neighborhood’s preferred concept was presented to City Council and approved unanimously to move forward into final design.

We’re proud to be part of a process that puts community voices at the center of great park design.

Aleah joins our team as an Architectural Designer supporting our Retail Studio. A graduate of Kansas State University, she brings her creativity and passion for design to the team.

Outside of work, Aleah enjoys going to the gym, spending time with family, loving on her animals, and playing video games. She’s also a soccer fan who enjoys both playing and watching—and proudly cheers on the U.S. Women’s National Team! ⚽

Her animal crew at home includes two dogs, a cat, chickens, and a leopard gecko—so it sounds like there’s never a dull moment!

⛳️ We survived the heat! ☀️

Yesterday, we hit the course at Crestview Country Club for NAWIC’s annual golf tournament with our friends from the City of Andover. It was a hot one, but a good day for some friendly competition, plenty of laughs and a little time outside the office.

We didn’t bring home any prizes, but we’re calling it a win anyway. Thanks to NAWIC for another fun tournament — and to our crew for being great partners on and off the course!

More than a year ago, we moved into our home at the Ruffin Building in downtown Wichita—and it continues to inspire the way we work every day.

The renovation gave us the opportunity to create a space that reflects who we are: collaborative, creative and connected. From preserving the building's historic character to designing flexible spaces for teamwork and client collaboration, every detail was intentional.

As architects, engineers, interior designers and landscape architects, we know that great spaces have the power to shape experiences. We're proud to call the Ruffin Building home and grateful to be part of the continued revitalization of downtown Wichita.

Here's to many more years of designing spaces that make a lasting impact.
