Black Tuscan is one of the top Black Madeiras as far as taste and resilience!
For having some freezing nights, occasional rain and dewy mornings, and such little daylight this late in the season, Black Tuscan has put a few insanely tasty figs out. This tree is only 1 year old and really is standing out among the new varieties.

Craven’s Craving is wayyyy better than anticipated!! 🙌
Our late figs tend to have incredible pungent flavors but without as much sweetness. This Craven’s Craving fig blew our mind with a complex strawberry jam punch. 🥊
So late in the year and still eating figs daily! 😎

Verdolino is a special fig!
Verdolino has the qualities that we are looking for in our hot and humid climate. It seems to have all of the same characteristics as Moro da Caneva, except is a green skinned fig. Super delicious with a small eye and tear drop shape. It even has a collar at its stem, much like MDC.
THIS is what we’re looking for when we trial all of these fig varieties!

Verdino Del Nord is having an incredible first showing! 🌞
The flavor on these figs is really tangy and addicting! They seem to have a unique tendency to split up the side, but didn’t spoil and held onto their strong flavor really well. 😋

This Sheila Unknown fig is worth it! 💗
I bet you don’t have this variety! This is Sheila Unknown (TFH-533), a Fig Hunter variety that isn’t widely talked about like some of his other finds. I had an idea that this fig would be similar to Adriatic varieties but was wrong. The skin and pulp have a very different taste and texture than the Adriatics. It is its own sugar-spotted, juicy, giant variety with skin like a pear and a taste similar to an over-sweetened Kool-Aid. 🧃

This Smith is probably the highlight of our fig season 🎥
This little fig was coated in sticky nectar produced from its completely closed ostiole. This unique feature is what makes Smith stand out amongst other figs. 🍯

From our first impressions, Portuguese Black is a real winner! So delicious, very similar to Black Madeira. Extremely productive for its first year. 👑

Slightly later to ripen, these figs have the qualities that make a fig exceptional. One of the best “tried and true” varieties we’ve come across.

Cessac tastes extremely similar to Smith. That being said, Smith is definitely one of the best tasting figs in existence. 😋
Cessac is in high demand and we are very happy to finally have a mother tree 😊
