NOA is a collective of architects and interior designers founded in 2011 by Stefan Rier and Lukas Rungger, guided by the ethos of 'building stories while designing buildings'. With a track record of several successful projects, the studio has established itself as a benchmark in hospitality architecture and design while continuously exploring new ideas and expanding its portfolio to include other

architectural typologies. Over the years, the founding duo has been joined by three partners: architects Andreas Profanter and Christian Rottensteiner, and interior designer Barbara Runggatscher. NOA's main headquarters are in Bolzano, with additional offices opened in Berlin (2018), Turin (2021), and Milan (2022).

The new playing landscape at Schlosshotel Fiss is revealed through subtle openings in the terrain. Inside, textured surfaces, and sculpted light create a space fully immersed in nature. Geometric ceiling modules in acoustic plaster and 3D-printed concrete shape both atmosphere and function, while play areas, climbing zones, and creative spaces turn architecture into exploration.

Inspired by alpine caves, fissures, and hidden rock chambers, our new design for Schlosshotel Fiss explores a dialogue between two worlds: the cave and the ice crystal. Deep, carved spaces meet light-filled patios that bring daylight into the heart of the building, like ice breaking through the earth.

The light-filled subterranean interiors seamlessly merge with the surrounding landscape, creating a new landmark where imagination, play, and discovery come together for the hotel’s youngest guests.
