What am I doing this week? In addition to drawing up plans, I am working on the business... sometimes we need to take a step back and analyze the processes we use to get stuff done... this is one way we strive to keep improving. Design isn't just for physical objects... the design of the process is important and ultimately contributes to improving the human experience for everyone involved. Process matters!

Hey guys, check out this drone's-eye view of a backyard oasis we're dreaming up at Landform Designs this month—a natural swimming pool tucked below a cozy pergola, all surrounded by lush planting beds and flagstone decking. The terraced steps lead right down from the house, with stepping stone paths wandering off to a revamped shop that will be doubling as a guest/pool house. Oh, and don't forget that playground with the sunken trampoline for the kiddos! Can't wait to see this one come to life. What's on the boards right now? This client had us create a master plan and had the phase 1 pool installed a few years back. Now we get to detail the accessories to go with it - the pergola , storage shed, fire-pit 🔥 terrace , new driveway, planting 🌳, lighting 💡, and other amenities . I love seeing a plan come together and take shape!😊

The family and I got to spend some fun/rare vacation time in Europe. These trips keep me inspired. This courtyard in Rhodes Greece is a perfect example of something I had to stop and study. This little space had so many great things - the mosaic floor, the sweeping stair, the simple iron, great human proportions. Despite the lack of plants, this is a study in landscape architecture. More to come.
