Architects struggle with creating powerful websites because they approach it from the wrong angle. Here are some tips to point you in the right direction.

Widespread unionization would help architecture businesses thrive as well as giving workers a fair deal and firm leaders should not stand in its way, says Architectural Workers United.

Transfering the true cost of development may well be the best way to cap urban sprawl. Urban planing by stealth. A quicker & easier lever than endless nimby forums, legal and planning department red tape. Aka the reform of the Resource Management act.

Auckland is currently in the middle of a massive building boom with consents reaching a new all-time high in August with just under 20,000 issued in the last 12 months. It’s no surprise then that

This is a guest post from Nick R The great irony of urban motorways is that they use up huge amounts of the very thing they are intended to access: land. All surface transport infrastructure naturally consumes land. However, while … Continued

This has the potential to be the architects “metoo” moment. as someone who spent most of my kids childhoods working days nights & weekends to meet insane deadlines driven by bottom dollar fee bids & “time is money” driven development programmes. The weakest link to our competing other architectural firms for work always being the labour unit in a still labour driven profession. The lack of the union has seen our value- well devalued.
Employees need to get behind this, so do architectural institutes, and last but not least architectural firms with any kind of moral spine.- all together. The moment one firm steps outside this triade they have a competitive advantage over their competitors.

Unpaid overtime, unfair pay and harassment in the workplace are just some of the reasons that architecture workers in the UK have formed a grassroots trade union for the first time.

Take that away and things start to fall apart pretty quickly...

The Great Housing Reset has led to growing numbers of single-family homes shifting from owner-occupied housing to investment vehicles for large corporations.
