This week we came together to celebrate Jill Brecount and more than 40 years with the firm. As the B in BDH, she leaves a body of work across workplace, multifamily, and senior living, and a team of designers she spent more than a decade building up.

For the opportunities she created for the people around her and the standard she set, we are grateful, and happy to see her enjoy everything that comes next. Congratulations, Jill.

After more than 40 years at BDH, Jill Brecount, CID, LEED AP, is stepping into retirement.

As the "B" in BDH, Jill leaves a body of design work across workplace, multifamily, and senior living that has earned recognition across the industry. But the work she may be proudest of is the people. For more than a decade, she built up the designers around her, curating a workplace team that carries her practice forward. Combined with creating the third generation of firm ownership in Angela Moore, Beth Nordstrom, Joyce Stupnik, and Todd Mulvihill, and that is a legacy that will endure well beyond her last day.

The clients who return year after year, the leaders she developed, and the standard she set are part of who BDH is today.

Thank you, Jill. For everything you have given this firm, we are deeply grateful.

Davis invited a few of our designers to Montreal to tour Lumenwerx and see how the fixtures we spec get built. The trip ran from factory tours to a light show at Notre-Dame Basilica. They even got to build their own wall-wash fixtures.

August 26 is , and around here that means giving credit to the part of the team that works entirely for treats. The BDH office runs on dog power. They handle greetings at the door, quality control from under the desks, and the occasional nap on company time.

We spent yesterday at the Kids In Need Foundation warehouse, a nonprofit that gets school supplies to students and teachers in under-resourced schools across the country. In just two hours, our team packed 360 teacher kits headed to classrooms for the start of the new school year.

Last week we joined the 13th annual LeadingAge Minnesota Foundation Golf Tournament alongside others in the senior care community, where golfers, sponsors, and volunteers raised nearly $108,000 for caregiver scholarships. Thanks to LeadingAge and everyone who came out for a great day of golf!

This Twin Cities financial services firm hosts clients regularly, for meetings, learning sessions, and community events. After twenty years in the same office, the space now keeps up with that activity. Across 15,000 square feet, we right-sized workstations to open up real breakout space and reworked the training center into a tech-forward hub for the events the firm hosts. Warm wood, cognac leather, brass lighting, and better use of daylight give the office a hospitality feel, comfortable and welcoming throughout.
