Our team enjoyed hosting the AIA Gulf Coast for a tour of our 688 Condo as it nears completion this summer. Rising at the gateway to Golden Gate, the building’s form is already defining a new presence on the skyline. From its unique floor plates to the structural strategy behind it, this project reflects a highly coordinated effort across a talented group of partners.

Principal Architect Mark Sultana and Project Architect Anita Keitel led the tour, sharing the thinking behind the design and the work that’s gone into bringing it to life.

Harbor Cay receives a Silver honor at the 2026 SRQ Magazine Home of the Year Awards for Best Remodel/Renovation. A special thank you to our entire team for their tremendous efforts.

This third transformation focuses exclusively on the exterior—reimagining the home beyond its original stark white cubism into a warmer, more expressive presence. Without altering the structure or interior, a refined material palette introduces contrast, warmth, and depth: wood tones, stone cladding, and raw metals that shift with light and shadow.

Louvered trellises animate the rooflines with filtered light, while a redefined entry sequence—replacing former water features with lush planting—creates a more grounded, welcoming arrival.

Sea La Vie receives a Gold honor at the SRQ Magazine 2026 Home of the Year Awards.
Best Overall Home ($2–4M)

A thoughtful response to site, climate, and livability, this 4,300 SF bayfront residence transforms constraint into opportunity. Positioned along a protected canal, the design establishes a seamless dialogue between water, landscape, and interior life—where light, breeze, and long axial views become central architectural elements.

Intersecting volumes and deep overhangs shape a crisp, sculptural presence while providing passive shading. Materiality—tabby stucco, smooth stucco, and expansive glazing—creates a layered façade that shifts with daylight.

Inside, a restrained palette elevates natural light and crafted moments, anchored by a sculptural floating stair. Living spaces open directly to the waterfront, while private areas are elevated to capture views and airflow.

A refined expression of contemporary Florida architecture—grounded in place, performance, and experience.

Honored to see one of DSDG’s recent historical preservation projects featured in Sarasota Magazine’s article exploring the of homes from the Sarasota School of Architecture, a lasting influence on the region’s architectural identity.

“They hired DSDG Architects, who were experienced with historic structures, and WG Homes, who had just finished restoring another Sarasota School house designed by Twitchell. They relocated mechanical systems in the ceilings, replaced wiring with flood-resistant cable below four feet and ripped out plumbing vulnerable to saltwater. They also installed propane tanks, a generator and an elevated on-demand water heater. Inside the walls, they sprayed fungicide, installed closed-cell foam insulation and replaced drywall with fiber cement panels that could survive another flood. Baseboards were eliminated entirely. Cabinetry was floated above the floor.” - Sarasota Magazine Link to Article Below
